Meet Our Staff
John Craft, RUF Campus Minister
John grew up in Memphis, TN. After graduating from Vanderbilt University, where he studied philosophy and film studies, he moved to Athens, GA to complete a two year internship with RUF at the University of Georgia. While doing intern training, he met his wife, Leigh, who was an RUF intern at Winthrop University. After they got married, John and Leigh moved to St. Louis, MO to attend Covenant Theological Seminary. After graduating and doing some college ministry in St. Louis, John and Leigh moved to Chattanooga in 2007 to work for RUF at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga. John and Leigh have two children, William and Lizzie, and one great dog, Sadie.
Katie Woodruff, RUF Staff
Katie hails from Baton Rouge, Louisiana and is starting her third year as an intern with UTC. She graduated from LSU and wants to go into Counseling. She hearts Chattanooga and enjoys being indoorsy but dressing outdoorsy. During the year you can usually find her at Zumba or any other setting where dancing is appropriate. Her favorite part of the job is one on one conversations and asking lots of questions. She loves working with the Crafts and Ben and is very excited to have Derrick on staff.
Ben Jackson, RUF Staff
Ben loves RUF, which is why he is still working with them -- this will be his third year. He is from Stone Mountain (Atlanta). He is a graduate of UGA, an avid outdoorsman and runner, and He's always up for a life-on-life conversation or chat about anything that makes him think too hard.
Derrick Beining, RUF Intern
Derrick is our newest intern. He grew up in northeast metro-Atlanta (Lawrenceville/Buford), and graduated from Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, GA. He dreams of being an avid runner and outdoors enthusiast, like Ben, but in reality prefers a book and a hot drink. Despite lacking the gift of gab, Derrick loves an honest discussion about faith and doubts, about things people are passionate about, and about anything else that involves putting the mind to work.
